Join me on an unforgettable journey around the most beautiful islands in Vesterålen for six nights. We will explore snow-covered mountains, frozen lakes and fjords, scenic roads, high mountains along the Norwegian coast and ancient old seascape historical fishing villages.
Vesterålen is located on Norway’s biggest and third biggest island, about 200 km north of the Arctic polar circle in the Nordland province, next to the border of Troms province. The winter season in Northern Norway brings stunning light conditions throughout the winter, providing magical light for photography.
As the days get shorter and the nights longer, there will be a good opportunity to observe the Northern Lights during the entire trip. Compared to Lofoten, Vesterålen is a hidden gem with way fewer tourists during the season.
The wildlife is very close, giving you a big chance of seeing moose, foxes, deer, and reindeer along the road. Just keep an open eye while driving, and you might see some amazing animals.
Depending on the Northern Light conditions, there will always be room for going on a Wildlife Safari during the entire trip.
